This site reported that the sony BDVIS1000 5.1Ch Blu-ray Disc/DVD Home Theater System plays SACD's. I was intrigued so I called Sony customer service and they confirmed that the system plays SACDs. Also the Sony site lists it as playing SACD.
I then went to Amazon and ordered the system, set it up yesterday and to my dismay it does not support SACD's. I am very bummed. THe system weighed 70 pounds and it would be a huge effort to return it so I am stuck... HOW COULD EVERYONE GET THIS WRONG??? |

Probably the Sony Customer Service relies on the same (apparently unreliable) data we get as consumers.
We've added your experience to the article, to further warn
other potential buyers, so thanks for your feedback. As expressed in the article, we already had serious doubts this information was correct.
As for returning the article, not sure how this will have to work. I think it's a strong case of false product information which sounds like a good enough reason to claim your money back. |

Amazon is usually very good about things like this. If you call them and explain, they may take it back and even cover the return shipping. Give it a shot anyway. |
