Over at the Steve Hoffman forum there's a thread with some very interesting reading about the history of the SACD format in Sony and Philips; about the early days but especially the point were Sony suddenly dropped support -- a decision for which we've got mr Andrew Lake to blame apparently. Especially Black Elk's story on page 2 is very enlightening.

Very interesting... thank you.
He points out that the advertised watermarking feature was not actually used on SACD discs. I believe this was debated in another thread here in the past. |
