AVR control by PSP?

Pioneer in Japan introduced a new range of BD and DVD players plus some AV receivers.

There's a DV-220V and a DV-420V but apparently no DV-620AV* with SACD playback to succeed the DV-600AV and DV-610AV.
* except in Russia, it seems when you google this term

Anyway, for the BD players and AV receivers Pioneer has implemented a nifty iPhone application to remote-control them. I recall Sony did something similar with iPhone control (by BlueTooth) a few months ago but was thinking: wouldn't it be cool if Sony turned PSP into the ultimate programmable remote? Or would a touch screen be indispensible for that? Should we perhaps wait until the next-generation PSP, something well beyond PSP Go?
